Five Easter recipes to make during the holidays

The Easter bank holiday may have come around earlier than usual, but it is never too early to plan your Easter recipes.

Whether you need something sweet to bake or a showstopping main to serve at Sunday dinner, adding Canadian maple syrup helps transform any dish.

Our favourite Easter recipes using maple syrup are below, with an array of different dishes for you to choose from.

Maple breakfast tacos

You may have seen breakfast tacos trending on social media in recent years, and rightly so. What better way to start your day than with this Mexican classic?

Like the original version, these breakfast tacos consist of a warm tortilla filled with tasty ingredients, just this time with breakfast staples.

The recipe contains eggs, tomatoes, kidney beans and onions, topped with a drizzle of maple green chilli sauce to give it that extra kick.

Easter egg maple hot chocolate

With the colder weather persisting, we have the perfect heartwarming recipe to try over the long Easter weekend.

This Easter egg hot chocolate is designed for any leftover chocolate eggs – if there are any! But you can use whatever chocolate you prefer.

Maple’s natural sweetness pairs well with the vanilla, cream and cocoa powder, with this hot chocolate sure to become a new family favourite.

Mini egg maple martini

If you fancy something a bit stronger this weekend, our mini egg martini will be right up your street.

Made with the richness of dark chocolate and amber maple syrup, the sweetness of mini eggs combined with the smoothness of Irish cream, this is no ordinary martini.

To make this mini egg martini vegan, simply find a plant-based Irish cream product or recipe. Pure Canadian maple syrup is made without any additives and is 100% vegan.

Maple lamb pie

Now on to the main event! Crafted with tender, succulent meat, this lamb pie is cooked to perfection and encased with a buttery pastry crust.

It makes a great centrepiece for Easter dinner if you’re looking for something different to a classic roast.

If you’re feeling brave, we have a harder version of this recipe which creates a perfectly round lamb pie with scalloped edges to really impress your guests.

Maple madeleines

Last, but certainly not least, our take on a French classic. These shell-shaped cakes are infused with either the richness of amber maple syrup or the delicacy of golden maple syrup.

Choose from maple madeleines, madeleines with maple caramel, chocolate-dipped madeleines and raspberry madeleines, or pick all four from this madeleine recipe.

If you or someone you know isn’t a fan of traditional Easter eggs, these make the perfect gift swap for this occasion.

Hoppy Easter!

By now, we hope you feel prepared for the Easter bank holiday, whether it’s being equipped with Easter recipes for Sunday dinner or gifting to friends and family.
